This weekend in the NFL, there were some really big hits between players. The NFL responded to these hits by fining the players responsible for the hits. One hit, by Atlanta Falcon Dunta Robinson, was extremely dangerous and had a good reason to be fined. He was fined $50,000 for the hit. Patriot Brandon Meriweather also had a dangerous, late hit which did deserve a fine. He was also fined $50,000. James Harrison, a Pittsburgh Steeler, had a really big hit that did not deserve a fine. He was fined most of all for $75,000. These players were just playing the game. If these fines continue at this rate, the NFL players will not play the real game of football. These fines are going to kill the NFL as we know it.
